Crazy About Super Nintendo

I got my hands on SNES (super nintendo entertainment system) in around 1994 boxed with one of the top selling games of that time "Final Fight 2".

Previously I use to own a SEGA Mega Drive (16 bit) system with quite a few titles. The transition was good and worthwhile. I happened to capture good titles for my new SNES, namely:

  • Final Fantasy 3 (Role-Playing-Game or RPG)
  • Jurassic Park 1 & 2 (Action / Adventure)
  • Killer Instinct (One on one fighting)
  • Super Street Fighter 2 (dont have to tell :)
  • Super Metroid (Action / Adventure)
  • Zelda

and a few others. Most of the cartridges had their "memory" busted. Couldn't even get a "user manual" with it but I had to bare with it. The most expensive piece came at 1500 to 1800 rupees, ie approximately $26.

Keep reading and I will discuss SNES in more detailed manner.

Also managed to get hold of - Secrets of Evermore - Super Mario - Donkey Kong - Super Battle Tank - Fighters History - Internation Super Star Soccer...and the list goes on.

SNES had better sound and grafix as compared to my older SEGA Mega Drive. Both were 16-bit plateforms but SNES out performed it what i call "smoothness" of the system.

The only drawback of famicom was it could not play the SNES US version cartridges (difference in shape) but the later did play famicom's cartridges. The most sought about game was the "Final Fantasy 7" and "Chrono Trigger". I love them both (but only played CT)...

Do post your thoughts...waiting....

The history of Nintendo is great, i've been reading about the history of the DS range on ezine.com . I have an original NES which still provides hours of fun.

The SNES was a big leap since the NES, Super Mario Bros 3 was one of the best games of all time, as for the Mega-Drive what was the deal with the sound on Street Fighter 2, SNES version was way better
